Basic information of Cyclohexanone

Cyclohexanone is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H10O. It is a saturated cyclic ketone with a carbonyl carbon atom in a six-membered ring. It is a colorless, transparent liquid with an earthy smell. When it contains trace amounts of phenol, it has a minty smell. In industry, it is mainly used as a raw material and solvent for organic synthesis. For example, it can dissolve nitrocellulose, coatings, paints, etc.

1.Paint Thinner
Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and the main intermediate for the manufacture of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as used in paints, especially those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymers and their copolymers or methacrylate polymers.

2.Dye solvent
Cyclohexanone is also used as a leveling agent for dyed and matte silk, a degreasing agent for polished metal, and a wood coloring paint. It is used as a high boiling point solvent for cosmetics such as nail polish. It is usually mixed with low boiling point solvents and medium boiling point solvents to obtain a suitable evaporation rate and viscosity.
