Mainly used as gas dehydrating agent and aromatic hydrocarbon extraction solvent. It is also used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, resin, oil, printing ink, etc., as a softener and finishing agent for textiles, and for extracting coumarin and indene from coal tar.
